in New York Jets, NY Jet Interviews

The Jersey Jets Fan is proud to give you guys our second interview with a New York Jets player. Last time around, it was starting safety Jim Leonhard. This time, we had the privilege of interviewing up and coming New York Jets QB Erik Ainge. Hope you Jets Fans enjoy:

Jersey Jets Fan: With so much success in college, do you find it hard to not hold the starting QB job with the Jets?

Of course it’s tough not playing. I’m so competative in nature…I wouldn’t be an NFL quarterback if I didn’t posess the killer instinct.

Jersey Jets Fan: How is it playing football in New York compared to Oregon and Tennessee?

It’s fun. I love football! I’ll play and enjoy it as long as I can…no matter when I’m slingin it.

JJF: How do you think this years team stacks up compared to last years? With some big time players departing, do you think new players can step up?

I think we’re just as good, if not better than last year. It’s always tough when you lose guys, especially when they’re such big pieces to the puzzle as they were. The new guys are going to be just fine…LT is really surprising us with his leadership and dedication, and the others want it just as bad as the rest of us. It should be a fun year to be a Jet!

JJF: I read that you are giving up #10 to Santonio Holmes for no compensation, respectable in a league where some guys demand money etc.. How do you feel about the number change?

It’s all good. Santonio was Super Bowl MVP and has earned respect in this league and has earned the right to wear number 10. Number 3 is just fine with me. They say its the magic number, so we’ll see.

JJF:  Have you been doing anything different this offseason in preperation for this years season? Are you excited for the HBO cameras and Hard Knocks?

Nothing too different…just tryin to let loose a little bit and have some fun. OTAs are here and that means that its time to buckle down and get ready. HBO Hard Knocks is goin to be interesting this year…STAY TUNED!

Payday- I had a blast interviewing Erik Ainge. He’s a great player, who’s passionate about football. The Jersey Jets Fan wishes him success this year and in the future, hope you fans enjoyed the interview!
